VIVIAN KUAN

SENIOR ADVISOR

Vivian Kuan is a Senior Advisor at Terreform ONE, where she plays a pivotal role in advancing the organization’s mission at the intersection of design, ecology, and urban futures. She previously served with distinction as Executive Director for more than a decade, guiding Terreform ONE through a period of transformative growth and global recognition. In addition to her directorship at T1, Vivian has contributed to academia as adjunct faculty at Parsons, teaching in the Strategic Design and Management graduate program, where she mentored the next generation of socially engaged designers and entrepreneurs.

Prior to her nonprofit leadership, Vivian built an accomplished career in architecture and development, designing and managing large-scale projects across the United States and Asia for leading firms such as Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates and Sun Hung Kai Properties. Her expertise extends across practice, strategy, and governance, reflecting her ability to bridge professional disciplines and cultural contexts.

Vivian continues to shape the fields of architecture and design education through her service on the Advisory Council of Cornell’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning and the Dean’s Council of the Yale School of Architecture, as well as her role on the Board of the Cue Art Foundation. She holds an MBA from the Wharton School and an MA from the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, along with a Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University.
